Mr. Slug

I met this slug a long time ago, over the summer I guess. As astonished as I was that he had made his way up to my third floor porch, I was even more amazed to see he made it all the way up there with a giant hole in his side - it went all the way to the other side of his body. Don't slugs have guts?
